How to help
DonateGive to a programme directly — clean water, education, women’s livelihoods or climate action. Donations can be directed to a specific area of work.Give now Sponsor a wellFund a solar-powered well at a school, dispensary or village. Every well in the register carries the name of the place it serves and the year it was drilled.Sponsor a well VolunteerOffer skills and time to programmes in Tanzania — field work, technical support, or professional expertise the Foundation does not hold in-house.Apply to volunteer Partner with usInstitutional, foundation and corporate partnerships that fund and deliver projects together, with each partner’s contribution defined rather than pooled.Start a conversation
What the Foundation is asking for
These are ARF's own stated priorities, set out in its impact report. They are what the Foundation says it needs support for — not a fundraising wish list written for this page.
Education and girls’ empowerment
- Hostels that let girls stay near school instead of walking five to ten kilometres
- Construction and renovation of classrooms and school buildings
- Learning materials — textbooks, uniforms and supplies
Clean water and sanitation
- Solar-powered wells for villages, schools and health centres
- Water storage and distribution so supply survives the dry season
- Community training in sanitation, hygiene and water management
Sustainable agriculture
- Irrigation systems so smallholders can produce year-round
- Greenhouses that protect crops from pests and disease
- Seeds, tools and inputs for farming groups
- School farming projects that teach the practice from an early age
Climate action
- Reforestation and conservation work
- Clean cooking and renewable energy for rural households
What happens after you give
Every completed project on this site names the partner that funded it. The girls' hostels were funded by Build a Life Foundation; Drilling for Hope contributed the water systems at Kinene, Mwarusembe and Kiparang'anda. Contributions are attributed rather than pooled into an anonymous total.
Buildings are handed to the school or the government that will operate them, and the Foundation returns to report what happened afterwards — including where results were mixed.
What this site does not tell you is a cost per well or per hostel place. The Foundation's project records hold no financial figures, so any such number would be invented, and an invented price is a poor basis for a decision to give.
An open opportunity
A girls' hostel at Mapinga
Mapinga Secondary School in Bagamoyo District has 1,020 students and no hostel. The Foundation has assessed the site and prepared a partnership request. It is proposed, not funded — which makes it the clearest place a new partner could start.
